A collection of all things indie and obscure, hosted by DJ El Train every Wednesday from 4-6 pm. Come for the music, stay for the nerdy ramblings.
This is the end! DJ El Train sends off Indie Dependent with a bunch of their favorite songs of all time! Traversing time all the way from the days of Steely Dan and The Small Faces, to the modern day masterpieces from Everything Everything and Animal Collective, join DJ El Train as they run through what they consider the absolute pinnacle of music!
The second-to-last Indie Dependent show ever! (For now...)
Featuring tracks from recent albums from Radiohead, Anohni, Death Grips, and FLANCH!
May 2016 marks the very last Album of the Month ever on Indie Dependent! And we have a huge one this month with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's super heavy, infinitely looping Nonagon Infinity, a garage/lo-fi/psychedelic rock album that you'll want to start again the second it ends. That, plus the new Radiohead single and plenty more!
Indie Dependent looks back on some indie songs 10+ years old in an old school block! That, plus indie artists with songwriting credits on Beyoncé's Lemonade and a bunch of random stuff with no real coherent theme!
In honor of The Avalanches, LCD Sounsystem, At the Drive-In, and several other indie bands coming back from the dead, we've got a few songs revived bands throughout the show, along with some older songs and many songs that DJ El Train just plain feels like playing.
April 2016's Album of the Month spotlight is on Animal Collective member Deakin's debut solo project Sleep Cycle! DJ El Train plays some choice cuts of the album's acoustic folk and psychedelic rock, as well as some notable recent tracks from M83, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Andrew Bird and many more cool and nifty tunes.
